From our first family vintages produced in childhood with a hand press, to setting up our wine estate, we have come a long way! We have met so many people, shared such enriching conversations and cheerful moments.
At the foot of Mont Ventoux and the Vaucluse mountains, Souleyrol (from the Provençal “souleiròu” meaning “sun-facing spot”) is indeed a family business where honesty, generosity and friendliness are not empty words. We speak plainly, without sugar-coating or labelling.
We are committed to an authentic and relaxed approach to wine.
This is the size of our still growing vineyard in the commune of Malemort-du-Comtat, Vaucluse.
Grenache Noir, Grenache Blanc, Syrah, Carignan and Viognier. These are our main grape varieties flourishing on our soils, making up our AOC Ventoux and IGP Vaucluse vintages.
Agapè, Storgê and Philia.
3 ways to express our love of the land.
This is our yearly production of red, rosé, and white wines.
Made a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1990 and a Regional Natural Park in 2020, Mont Ventoux boasts an exceptional geological and biological diversity. Standing out like a beacon in the south-east of the Rhône Valley, it shelters the Comtat plain, creating favourable vine-growing conditions. The lands of the Ventoux appellation thrive in the typical sunshine and heat of the Mediterranean climate, while reaping the benefits of the cleansing mistral wind. They also enjoy uniquely cool temperatures due to the mountains surrounding them.
The vineyard of the Souleyrol Estate, which uses sustainable agriculture, thrives on clay, clay-limestone and loamy soils between 220 and 330m above sea level, allowing us to grow the different grape varieties that make up our original vintages.
Renaud Veyrier is the third generation cultivating his land in mixed farming (vines, olive and cherry trees).
His production, which until 2020 was sent to a local cooperative winery, is now supplying his own wine estate.
From vineyard work to wine ageing, hand harvesting, vinification and blending, Renaud excels at each stage of production and strives to create his wines in the constant respect of nature.
Renaud and Vanessa know they can count on a team eager to support them daily in managing the estate. Guided by the light of their hearts, they all share the same goal: to make the Souleyrol Estate an integral part of the AOC Ventoux collective.
Passionate, committed and determined, he watches over the future of the estate he created with his wife Vanessa in 2020. The team know they can count on him to work with care, patience and steadfastness in the vineyard and cellar alike.
Cheerful and positive, she is the yin of Souleyrol. Her versatility takes her everywhere, from the vineyards to the office, tasting cellar and trade fairs, where she will welcome you as friends, with simplicity and always with a smile on her face.
Brave and hard-working, he is also modest and sensitive – a proper role model. A loyal and dedicated asset to the Veyrier family for 15 years, he never misses a trick when it comes to carrying out work in the vineyard.
She is Manuel’s wife, and she, too, comes back to Malemort-du-Comtat every season to work on the estate. With her attentive and calming manner, she takes care of the whole team. Her smile is a cure for all ills.
Cheerful and endearing, he is Manuel and Maria’s son. So of course, he knows the estate like the back of his hand! This mature young man works with both stamina and precision, and always light-heartedly. He now assists Renaud in certain tasks on the estate.
Strong-willed, lively and resourceful, Renaud and Vanessa’s eldest daughter for now shares her time between her studies and the family estate, cheerfully though earnestly giving us a hand.
This talented and creative lady deals with the estate’s communication and runs its social networks. She is a shadow worker full of humility, wit, style and commitment.
